The Nutritional Services Staff at Magnolia Regional Medical Center provides meal service for patients, visitors, staff, physicians, special meal functions, and contracted by Kid's First, totaling 114,000 meals per year.

Other Services:
The Food Services Supervisor sees each patient on admission to determine food preference, allergies, and problems that require changes in food texture.  A selective menu is offered to patients who wish to select their meals.  A Nutritional Assessment to improve the nutritional status of hospitalized patients is conducted on identified patients.  In-patient nutrition education is provided by an RD/LD when ordered by the physician or when the need is identified by the staff.

Cafeteria:
A cafeteria is provided for visitors and staff.  It is located on the ground floor and is open from 7:30am until 6:00pm daily.

Hot food is served the following hours:
Breakfast: 7:30a - 9:00a
Lunch: 11:30a - 1:00p
Dinner: 5:00p - 6:00p

Cold and hot sandwiches, snack food, beverages, yogurt, and grill items are available at other times of the day.

Nutrition Programs:
Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy is provided by a Registered/Licensed Dietitian when ordered by the patient's physician and scheduled through the Central Scheduling Department at 870-235-3516.

A weight loss program is offered with counseling by an RD/LD and weekly weigh-in.
Magnolia Regional Medical Center offers a Recognized Diabetes Self-Management Program.  A comprehensive diabetes education program is provided by patients and family members.  A physician referral is required and may be scheduled through the Central Scheduling Department by the physician's staff at 870-235-3516.  There is a fee for this program, often covered by insurance.  It is a covered service for Medicare patients.

A monthly Diabetic Support Class is offered free of charge on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 2p at the LifeSmart Center.
